Anger In Chicago
Chicago's Only Active Chapter of The Metallica Club
I need a voice to let myself, to let myself go free
Anger In Chicago Most of a Year in review for 2004
2004 was a year of growth and success for Anger In Chicago, the only active chapter of the Metallica Club in the city of Chicago. A local chapter that started in June of 2003 with 5, and grew to have about 25 members by the end of 2004. We grew in membership by working to promote a Metallica culture in Chicagoland through monthy editions of Anger In Chicago. An "Edition" is a party/meeting/get-together at Anger In Chicago Headquarters where we have a sanctuary for Metallica friends to gather and celebrate all that is Metallica together. We understand the importance of coming together in person to promote band events. January 2004 brought an "Unnamed Feeling" single release party to AIC HQ.
During the spring and summer, Anger In Chicago was thrilled to begin having Some Kind of Monster movie promotions with special screenings and even a live, personal encouragement call from co-director Bruce Sinofsky during one of our editions.
The June Edition of Anger In Chicago was our first anniversary as a local chapter and we celebrated our members and Metalli-friends birthdays as well as Anger In Chicago. Our editions try to allways have lots of Metallica swag for prizes to members and visitors.
May saw Anger In Chicago members invade Madison, Wisconsin for one of our many Madly In Anger with the World Tour outings to Metallica concerts where we of course ended up on the rail, and, thanks to our friend Niclas, on MetOnTour and LiveMetallica.com.
AIC prides itself as having become a closely knit family of Metallica friends and on August, 15th 2004 we sadly learned of the passing of our brother Scott Moore. Like any family, we came together to mourn our loss, and to reflect on how much he impacted our lives and our chapter in the short time we knew him. Godspeed, Scott. "My body lie, but still I Roam."

And we move on.
Anger In Chicago had successful outings for all four Illinois dates of the 2004 tour.
In Moline, IL on August 22nd, Anger In Chicago had its first privelage of appearing in video on MetOnTour.Com by being the first fans to get to the rail before the show.
Then Peoria, where where some of us were fortunate enough to win backstage meet and greets, but yours truly, the chapter head, had Lars Ulrich reach over the rail during the show and wish me a happy 34th birthday on August 24th, my birthday!
August 28th and 29th Anger In Chicago was again backstage and all of us on the rail for both Chicago shows.
In September, post Chicagoland shows, we got together for a "Tales from the Rail" edition of AIC where we joyfully told stories and showed of all the picks, sticks, cups, and setlists we scored at all the shows.
Look at all those AIC shirts!
