In the beginning, there were five of us, the founding members:
Jeff is a lifelong Metallica fan who provides our "HQ-Chicago" on the city's Southwest side. He's also a big fan of all things metal, even including Manowar and Norweigan Death Metal. But 'Tallica always trumps all. Even if you only have 30 minutes to rock.
Dave is a Purdue Graduate, former resident of Chicago, currently residing in Michigan, working very hard at his job. He is trying to work on perfecting his skills for next year's World Series of Poker. Next Year. Always next year!
Mike is a college student, spending the school year at U of I, and the summer in the SW burbs. When he makes it to HQ-Chicago, he often brings his guitar, and good times follow.
Andy is also a college student, originally from Michigan, living downtown. Andy has taken responsibility for our promotional flyers, and played a big part in the design of our 2004 t-shirt in-between studying hard and drinking beer.
Lane is a longtime fan, from Laport, Indiana. Lane was in charge of our first t-shirt design, and we wish him all the best in his current and future endeavors and welcome him to stop by anytime.
And now, introducting...
Gabriella is from Chicago, she has been a Metallica fan for almost 21 years, and is moderating our Message Board. She's successfully kept herself from passing out in anticipation of her Meet & Greet in Peoria on 8/24/04 and created what is now displayed in H.Q, the Anger in Chicago banner. Or as James called it, “the cape” .
Alan is the former chapter head for Chicago Area Thrashers, now onboard with Anger In Chicago. He's also the proud father of a beautiful baby girl.
Marj is our designated cake and cookie-baker (thanks!) and has been a chapter member since last fall. She also proves that you don't have to be in the 18-35 year bracket to enjoy Metallica.
Joe is our in-house bartender, and a fine one at that, although he does have a hard time reaching the fridge. If he's not at our meeting, he can be found most nights behind, or at least near, the bar at Joe's on Weed Street, and soon, in a classroom near you.
Brad, stops by the AIC HQ whenever he's not busy flying people around the country on ATA. No, not Southwest, as he'll quickly remind you. ATA.
Lowman has attended a meet & greet in San Francisco back in April of 04! Chris has been known to bring his tequilla-loving significant other with him.
Gary is also an old-school Metallica fan, and another of our newer members. Autograph seekers often mistake him for Steve "Mongo" McMichael.
Joe is another of our new members from February 04. He has been a die-hard fan since '87 and thinks Jaws is the best movie ever put to film, and has a crush on the Donnas, who kick-ass, by the way.
Jeff has been a diehard Metallica fan since he was 11 years old. He's also the bass player in a band called Full Range. He thrashes all around, acting like a maniac...
The older brother of Jeff, Phil has been a Metallica fan since he was 13, and is also a member of Full Range, Phil sings and plays guitar. Phil was another lucky winner of a meet and greet on 8/24/04. Just like his brother… Whiplash!
Joe is a member of Sepsis, he claims to enjoy long walks, and reading Readers Digest and Tv Guide. He along with Gabriella and Phil, won a meet and greet 8/24/04. He's also one of the most energetic guitar players you'll ever see.
Kyle, who needs no real last name, is an occasional roadie and full time friend for Full Range. In his spare time, Kyle really enjoys performing crunches at various locations around town. Look for the photo documentary coming soon!
Melissa is a die-hard fan of Metallica and various old-school metal bands.
Christina, who commutes all the way from Wisconsin, and enjoys all kinds of metal music, was the lucky winner of a Meet & Greet in Madison back in May of 04.
Rob is another of our more recent inductees, and always livens up the late-night discussions around the AIC-HQ bar. Rob is a computer science major who just realized he's actually going to graduate soon, and might just need to find a job... or just stay in school a few years longer! He also eventually plans on marrying his long-time love Erica.
Ray has been a fan of Metallica for many years; he also is a Chicago fire fighter, Just ask him, he’ll be glad to tell you all about it.
And let us not forget Scott, who joined this chapter in February, and was taken away from us all in August. Scott was a long-time Metallica fan, who also enjoyed the Cubs, Poker, and Wrestling. We will miss you, we will never forget you. You'll be a part of this chapter forever.
Take me Home!
